Let's Get Started---Where do we look for sources?
After deciding on a topic, ask yourself questions that you need to find the answers to in order to write a good paper. Start with a search engine that can take you to your main topic (or the sub topics you have chosen). If you find websites, articles, or other online sources, look at the bottom and you will find suggestions about where else to research or documentation of sources used on that website that might give you a new source. Also, try Ebsco and other resources that Mrs. Kassik taught you about in the BHS library (you can find information about those sources and passwords below). Now, be sure to also try one of those book things that reside on the shelves of libraries. They have pages, covers, and information! The internet is awesome, but having a few book sources is important, too. Vary your sources so that you don't have too much of any one type of source.
I love Ebsco!
Use Ebsco Host to find books, articles, and other sources easily. Type in Digital Prairie. Go to Ebsco Host and use the Student Research Center. The username is "Bethany1" and the password is "media". Do a narrow search for what you need. If you don't get any results, broaden the search. Or, start with a broad search and then use the advanced search option to narrow down the many things that are found. When you find what you need, make sure to hint the "Full Text" option or you may only get a small piece of what you need, and before you print, hit "Cite" and it will give you the citation you need right on the source itself. It's awesome!!!!! If you need help locating the information you will need for proper documentation, use the file below.
