Justice and Injustice
Matters of justice and injustice teach us many lessons. How do we avoid the mistakes of the past without learning about them? How do we decide how to live our lives if we don't know the consequences that lurk in the choices we make? These questions are answered in literature. Our main study in this unit is Night, a memoir of holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel. This book answers and raises questions for students and offers a great chance for discussion. After completing Night, we will look at short stories that also deal with justice and injustice and the questions lurking within.
